From his native Germany, to Panama, and the United States, the muralist known as 1010 has been creating large-scale portals on walls that have captured the publics imagination. The premise and visual layouts of his pieces are a succession of concentric shapes receding into the perceived depths of a given surface. Judicious employment of color, shading and contrast all lend credence to these colorful illusions of torn breaches in the space-time continuum. Many are quite ambitious, with one piece even spanning over 400 feet on a Parisian highway. Regardless of locale or size, there is an appreciable consistency from this artist - a sublime pull of gravitational forces that invite curiosity and exploration of a world just beyond the grasp of reality.
